Latest News 15/04/08 Well. Thought I had the weather station back up and running back after checking it last night it stopped updating about 2 mins after I left it. Have added the Gizmo back to this page and also updated to the latest Google Earth image of Hood aerodrome as the Weather Station page background. Also still looking at an IP webcam to have a nicer pic of the current happenings on Hood. We now have a new group looking after the airfield. Phil Patterson is heading an effort to straighten out the airfield management. If you would like to contact him his e-mail is here. There is also a page with a map of the airfield with links to organisations with websites which are based on Hood News Good Friday Sorry about the slack updates. Weather station has packed a sad. Upgraded the NZ Gliding forums to a newer verson and that took some debugging but at least the weather has been good for gliding :-). The menu above doesn't link to the new forum pages so I have added a link on the left. As DG upgraded their website the RSS feed maker I had stopped working and I can't get it going again. I will keep on trying. News 07/07/07 Changing a few things on the website. New Menus etc. Now have this nifty scrolling RSS feed dodad with the DG latest news. News 21/06/07 I have tried adding a RSS link for the latest DG news. It works with Sage and it should work with all RSS news readers. News 15/04/07 I have added a new picture capture program to the house webcam. It will update the picture a lot more often. It also has a webpage addon that updates the pics every 1000 milliseconds so it should do video as I have it set to update as often as the adsl allows. Just click on the housecam pic or here to get the page. I will trial if for the next week or so and see how it runs. News 18/03/07 Sorry about the slack updates. The 1000 has been at Omarama since Christmas earning its keep. Phil Plane has been doing some great flights in it with customers for Glide Omarama. Didn't get to do any flying there myself as the weather was pretty so so and I also ended up helping a couple of owners out with instrument problems etc. Of course after we left to come back to work the weather improved and some good flying was had. Since then its been heads down and bum up working in my new job. Can't say what it is at this stage but if everything goes to plan then I can annouce what it is after Easter. Imported a new DG 808cc last year for a customer in Christchurch and a new LS8T for a customer in Wellington. Also have a new DG 1000 in club configuration for the Wellington Gliding club. This is the first one DG have built and they are quite excited by its potential. Press release here. News 26/12/2006 Well another Christmas has come and gone. I started a new job and the weather has been crap. So flying has been non existent. Heading to Omarama on the 29th with the DG 1000 so maybe the weather gods will be kind enough to allow some aviating to take place. But there is always the fishing if nothing else. I recieved the Gliding Kiwi a few days ago and was not surprised to see a very out of date article on the LS 10 featured in it. The item that was quoted and proported to be the latest news on the LS 10 was written and placed on DG s website some 20 months ago by DGs owner Friedel Webber. This was written August last year and was on the same page. I know the Kiwi has a reputation of having out of date news but this is a little pathetic. A current status of the LS 10 is the first production prototype incorperating the improved wing root fairing, wing split at 7.25 metres etc will be on display at Aero 2007 in Febuary. Customers who have options are now been asked if they want to upgrade to a firm order for deliverys in 2007. More here on the improvments and a report on the handling by Holger Back. |
